A deep dive into Franchise Mode
How I'm building the Red Sox into a power in MLB the Show's best game mode
After spending the majority of my time in Road To The Show and Diamond Dynasty (not as much), I finally decided to explore the world of Franchise Mode. One thing I don’t see enough of is streamers taking their viewers through the journey of Franchise Mode. Most of what you see is Diamond Dynasty, and occasional RTTS.
Since I have now done all three game modes, I think I’ve found the game mode I will be spending most of my time in – Franchise Mode.
I think I mentioned before that I typically enjoy rebuilding teams when it comes to Franchise Mode. I usually pick a different team in each year’s release. This year, I decided to roll with the Boston Red Sox and build toward another powerhouse at Fenway Park. Also, it will be fun to restore the New York Yankees-Red Sox rivalry like the old days. The beauty is you don’t even have to choose a MLB team, you can even start a franchise with a new team you’ve created like your Diamond Dynasty team, or for instance switching from the Oakland Athletics and moving them to Las Vegas.
They’re a team with a lot of budget to work with, and also will require some moves to be made. I’ve set everything to manual as you see above so I have full control over every move being made. Immediately, I noticed a new feature for when you put players on the trading block, it updates with teams that are interested in trading for that player. I really like that feature.

Another move I will be keeping an eye on is firing Alex Cora. It will all depend on how the team does by the halfway point during the All-Star Break. As of right now, they’re really aren’t any better options available to take his place, so I will leave that part alone for now.
Something else that is new that I noticed, is you can assign sponsorships for Active Replay’s, In-Game Ticker, and Batter-Walk Ups. This is another way to authenticate your gameplay as much as possible. So many sports games these days don’t really give you full control over your franchise, where MLB The Show basically gives you full control from the majors, down to Double-A.
Another huge improvement is the Custom Game Entry. This new feature allows gamers to set and save custom game conditions. Which can allow them to automatically jump into the live Franchise game that was being simulated. Also, I absolutely love that the PPI feature has also been added to Franchise mode. This allows players to promote their best prospects in exchange for draft pick compensation. It makes things that much more interesting.
You also now have the option to start a save with a roster that includes all the real-time injuries like you can on games like Madden or NBA 2K. These are all great delights added to Franchise mode. These updates make this game mode in my opinion the most enjoyable. You have so much more freedom with the Game Mode. It’s a gaming experience that makes you feel like an MLB General Manager.
These are all the changes that I have noticed just getting started. I look forward to keeping you all up-to-date with my Red Sox team.
Is Franchise Mode the best game mode in MLB The Show 24?

Elite Eight Set for Q1 Sunburst Invitational
Several interesting matchups here, notably the heavyweight battle between Alexgakill (last year’s runner-up, I believe) and super goon Frostie. Also interesting to see if Zazzi, last year’s champion, can dig his way out from the loser’s bracket.
