The Best Hitting Tip I've Ever Used
Seriously, one change in my setup helped my offensive take off immediately.
This has been a rough year in Ranked Seasons for me.
I regularly made World Series in the past and felt confident enough in my method to write a book about my process. Of course, I’ve not made World Series since the launch of MLB the Show 23 despite my best efforts.
The culprit has been easy to spot: I stopped hitting.
Now, I was never a great hitter, but I could hit enough to win games. I could blow out a few opponents but also won a huge amount of 4-3 and 3-1 games once reaching Hall of Fame mode once passing 700. This year I find myself on the wrong end of those games or simply not scoring outside of the rare home run.
This has left me struggling to reach 800, let alone make World Series. I’ve even altered my hitting approach, occasionally using anchors, or focusing on pulling pitches in hopes of more power. Nothing stuck until a few days ago when I stumbled upon a tip that immediately started helping.
The tip comes from the TikTok account of Cade_by90 who regularly sits near the top of the Ranked Seasons standings. Here’s the tip: Start your PCI at the pitcher’s release point.

I know it sounds simple, but it has helped my hitting dramatically. What the method does is focus your eyes on just one area. Before, I would simply leave my PCI in the middle of the plate and wait for mistakes. I would try to watch the ball out of the pitcher’s hand but then had to calibrate where the ball was going to where my PCI sat.
This change also helped dramatically with picking up pitches. Breaking balls tend to jump slightly out of the pitcher’s hand. With the PCI already there, I find it easier to determine the pitch type and start moving my PCI earlier, giving me that extra nano-second needed to go from largely late swings to more early and perfect swings. I’m getting more hits, more homers, and simply feel more confident going into games.
Last night, I played BR and got the 30-hits mission done in just four games. That is almost unheard of for me as I often limp along to get there. If you are struggling to hit, try this method. It seriously works. I’m actually enjoying the game again. 😊
