A Boring Yet Effective Stub-Making Method
Take advantage of this one market inefficiency to work toward Babe Ruth.
So, how long did you stay up and play?
I slept way too much Thursday afternoon, so I was a little wired last night. I played from about 2 a.m. until 5 a.m. when I went back to sleep so I would not be a zombie today. I’m still putting together my initial thoughts on the game, but at first, it seems solid.
What I do want to talk about is stubs. As I mentioned yesterday, my first goal every year is to finish the Live Series collection as soon as possible. While the American and National League rewards lack their usual punch, there is no arguing that Babe Ruth will be an absolute monster.
As a No Money Spent player, that means a lot of flipping. Yesterday, I mentioned that I typically start with equipment, but reader Scott Capilouto made the excellent point that equipment will be less valuable this year with no CAPs in Diamond Dynasty. I wholly agree.
Instead, I returned to last year’s tried and true method of exchanging live series silvers for golds. The reason is simple: So many golds currently go for crazy high prices.
Here’s a reminder on how it works if you are unfamiliar:
As I write this on Friday afternoon, Cody Bellinger is at 8300+, Ketel Marte is near 7000, Corbin Burnes is going for 4000+, Luis Robert is at 5200+, Johan Duran is 3400+, and much more. With high silvers in the low 200s, there is an opportunity to make a crap ton of stubs really quick.
Now, this will shift as more players come online these prices will certainly drop. For now, though, this looks like a great way to get closer to the Babe. What good stub-making methods have you found so far?
